Downtown St. Pete and Beach Drive

Downtown St. Pete packs 46 places into a walkable grid, from Beach Drive sidewalk tables to a new five-story food hall and the Pier.

Downtown St. Pete is small enough to walk and has 46 of the places on this site. Park once and you can reach the bay, the Pier and Central Avenue on foot.

Beach Drive is the waterfront street

Beach Drive faces the parks and the marina. Parkshore Grill has been here since 1996 and says it was the first major restaurant on this stretch. Cassis is the brasserie with its own market next door.

For a view, The Canopy is the rooftop bar on a 1924 building that is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Three MICHELIN restaurants are downtown

Il Ritorno, Fortu and Sushi Sho Rexley are all within a few blocks of each other. All three are MICHELIN Recommended. See all five in St. Pete.

Central Park St. Pete is the new food hall

Central Park St. Pete is a five-story food hall at 551 Central Ave, on the old Dome Grill site. It opened in stages starting 19 February 2026. A 22-seat cocktail bar opened in its basement that July.

Downtown St. Pete after dark

Jannus Live is the open-air concert courtyard, and says it has been running for over 40 years. Ruby's Elixir has live music seven nights a week.

Eating at the St. Pete Pier

Teak is the restaurant at the far end of the Pier, with the bay on every side. Pier Teaki is the rooftop bar above it.

Fresco's may not be here much longer. Fresco's Waterfront Bistro is open on the marina seawall. The city's marina rebuild calls for tearing down its building, with work expected to start in late 2026. The city has not said if Fresco's comes back.

Downtown closings were about rent and leases

None of the downtown closings we confirmed was blamed on the hurricanes. Datz, Red Mesa Cantina, Concrete Jungle and Sea Salt all closed for business reasons. The dates are in St. Pete restaurants that have closed.
